About the role
As the Front of House Associate, you will be taking the lead in creating a warm and welcoming environment at Norrsken House Amsterdam. You’ll be the first point of contact for anyone entering our House, ranging from top-founders to leading funders, innovators and partners. Your mission is to create a place where every visitor, guest and member feels genuinely welcomed, valued and at home. Through thoughtful hospitality, personal attention and a warm presence, you help make Norrsken House Amsterdam a community where people connect, belong and feel inspired to be part of the solution.
Your daily work will vary and shift a lot, no two days will be the same! From assisting members and guests with inquiries, to handling administrative and operational tasks such as mail and registration, to providing support for the many events we’ll host. We put a lot of trust in you and this role gives you lots of ownership to manage tasks independently as well as collaborate closely with the rest of the Amsterdam team, especially the Operations Manager and Community & Growth Lead.
This role reports to the Managing Director and is based out of Norrsken House Amsterdam.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
Member and guest experience: You are the face of the House. You will welcome members, guests, and partners, ensuring smooth check-in and a warm welcome. By handling inquiries and occasionally leading tours, you make sure all who visit Norrsken House Amsterdam feel supported in the space.
Systems management & member administration: You will manage access systems, Slack, and maintain accurate member data to ensure strong operations.
Collaborate with the team: You work closely with the Operations Manager and Community & Growth Lead, as well as the rest of the Amsterdam team, to tackle challenges and solve for the best possible experience for guests and members.
Manage post, front desk supplies & lockers: You ensure the "backstage" works as well as the "front stage". This involves maintaining a clean and organized front desk and overseeing the logistics of parcels, lost & found, and member lockers.
Optimise and improve ways of working: You’ll actively seek ways to optimise our workflows, routines and processes.
Who you are
Derive energy from social interactions and show up with a warm and authentic mindset: People feel seen by you. You have a natural ability to make people feel welcomed and build deep relationships.
Thrive in ownership and solving problems on the spot: You are comfortable managing your work and priorities, take initiative to improve processes, and raise your hand when you need support.
Team player and doer who rolls up your sleeves to get good sh*t done: You thrive in a cross-functional team where we put impact over ego and the experience for our members and guests first.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (experience within the hospitality sector is a plus).
Tech-savvyness in the Google Suite and other systems is highly valuable.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in Dutch and English.
