Norrsken is growing.

And 2020 will be our best year ever.

We are going global.

Our house in Stockholm is expanding.

And Lisa, our amazing Events Manager, will focus 100% on Impact Week, to help us make it even bigger and better than in 2019.

That means that Norrsken is looking for a new Events Manager to fill Lisas huge shoes during 2020; an outstanding team member to create amazing experiences at Norrsken House and to manage partner and accelerator related events in our spaces.

We’re on a mission to put a positive ding in the universe. We’re proud of where we’ve got so far, but we’re just getting started. As the Events Manager, you will play a crucial role in working towards our mission. You will help us create the WOW-effect by curating exciting Norrsken events and also ensure that our partners and external organisations have first-class experience in hosting their events in our spaces.

We bring together inspiring conversations at the intersection of impact, technology and entrepreneurship to explore, collaborate, educate, connect, inspire and co-create solutions to the most pressing global challenges. We just hosted Max Tegmark and Jamie Metzl, engaged an exciting audience and took a deep dive into AI and gene editing questions, two of the most interesting innovations there is. What topic would you want to tackle? Who is your hero that you would proud to bring to Norrsken House?

A job at Norrsken will be demanding, it may be long hours and challenging work. But it will also give you the opportunity of a lifetime to work on ideas and solutions that truly drive positive impact in society.

Among other things, your responsibilities will be:

  • Curating and organizing Norrsken events
  • Creating one-off special events at Norrsken House
  • Developing partnership events
  • Assist community manager with larger community events
  • Managing events related to our accelerator programs
  • Administration of external events business, event staff, food, drinks and technical equipment

Are you our next fantastic teammate who we cannot wait to meet?

Keep in mind that Norrsken is a startup at heart. We don’t know where this journey will take us. Things change fast, new opportunities come out of the blue, and as a result, your responsibilities will change over time as well.

We actively seek to recruit talented people from all backgrounds and will consider all combinations of work experience, academic qualifications and extracurricular activities when selecting candidates to interview.

We think you are capable of increasing the bar and taking Norrsken events to the next level. You would also do an excellent job creating a smooth experience, from beginning to end. You are an energetic, creative, tech-savvy and meticulous talent that can plan, coordinate and execute events. You can work on multiple projects at the same time and know how to prioritize high and low tasks. You may still be early in your career but you have events experience, preferably in the startup world. You also love learning and take pride in resourcefulness - if you don't know how to do something, you figure it out or you know who to ask.

We will recruit the right person for this role as soon as possible, so don’t wait with your application. Please include the following information when you apply:

  • Education (please include subjects and grades/scores)
  • Personal statement: Your motivation for applying in 300 words or fewer
  • CV/Resume
  • Language skills: Information regarding your proficiency in languages. Our working language at Norrsken is English.
  • Any additional relevant information such as recommendations or reference letters.

You will be a member of the Norrsken Foundation HQ team, and report to the CMO. The position is based in Stockholm. Salary is 30,000 SEK/month, with good benefits. You start as soon as possible. End date, unless otherwise agreed, is November 30, 2020.

We look forward to hearing from you!
