Norrsken Africa/Week is a carefully curated gathering of Africa’s top 1,000 impact founders, bold investors and key enablers. With one shared mission - to drive capital towards highly-scalable impact and tech startups in Africa - this in-person event is set to spark transformative change.
Happening in November 2025 at Norrsken House Kigali, Africa’s largest hub for startups, our vision is to establish Africa/Week as the leading summit for the innovators and changemakers shaping the future of the African tech and startup ecosystem.
And this is where you come in! We’re looking for an experienced project manager with a passion for creating unforgettable experiences, to join our team in Kigali and help us elevate our flagship African event to new heights.
Role responsibilities
Full ownership of Africa/Week 2025, including concept development, budgeting, resource allocation, planning, production, execution, and post-event follow-up, ensuring seamless management across the entire event lifecycle.
Manage internal and external stakeholders, including a local steering committee, to align goals and ensure successful execution.
Coordinate with key partners such as government entities, enablers, startups, and sponsors to foster collaboration.
Lead and oversee vendor selection and management, including production, A/V, and catering, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Drive event sponsorship opportunities to maximize the event’s impact and financial sustainability.
To thrive and succeed as Project Manager Africa/Week, we believe you have;
+5 years experience successfully leading large-scale event productions that stand out. Agency experience is considered a plus.
Solid project management skills spanning from planning, project coordination, budget ownership and execution.
A clear understanding of what makes the East African startup ecosystem sit up and take notice. Previous experience from working in Kigali, Rwanda will be considered a big plus.
A collaborative mindset and hands-on approach, you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and are motivated by getting things done as part of a high-performing team.
Someone who is determined to leave a positive mark on the world, and shares Norrskens’ belief in entrepreneurship as a force for positive change.
What we offer you at Norrsken:
This is a fixed-term project-based role for 10 months, starting March 01, 2025. You’ll need to be based in Kigali, Rwanda, working out of Norrsken House Kigali. You’ll report to the Managing Director East Africa and collaborate closely with our Head of Global Events.
Compensation and benefits include salary of $3,000 net monthly, 18 paid vacation days/year, medical insurance, computer and new phone with mobile voice and data package.

The target start date for this role is March 01, 2025. We’ll review all applications ongoing but begin interviews on February 10th.
