Event Manager

About Norrsken

Norrsken Foundation is on a mission to put a positive ding in the universe. In our first five years of existence we’ve created Europe’s largest impact Hub in Stockholm, launched the world’s largest early-stage impact VC fund, founded about 10 companies and given birth to our own Impact Accelerator programme. We also continue to gather some of the world’s greatest thinkers in the recurring end-of-summer Impact Week, aimed at challenging decision makers and celebrating role models. On top of this, we are constructing East Africa’s largest hub for startups in Kigali, Rwanda.

...But we’re only getting started. We’re now ready for the next stage of our growth journey, and we’re looking for top-tier talent to join our mission of helping entrepreneurs solve the world’s greatest challenges and arrange our extraordinary events.

About the role

Activities and events are an essential part of the Norrsken ecosystem, connecting entrepreneurs, partners and members in various ways ranging from smaller sessions to larger celebrations. We are now looking for a stellar Event Manager to our Nordic team to make sure we take our events and how we connect people to the next level.

Being an Event Manager in our world means managing events and activities end to end with a slim budget and a lot of thinking outside the box. This entails creatively developing event concepts whilst being hands on with budget, logistics and execution. It also means working closely with our partners to ensure ongoing communication and that we deliver on the annual partner agenda. And if you are the type of person that likes to rethink activities and event elements and previous setups, you will thrive in our entrepreneurial culture.

Main responsibilities (included but not limited to)

  • Owning and managing Norrsken recurring internal events e.g. our morning raves and community show cases
  • Support Norrsken Impact Week in their ongoing work, culminating in the annual event impact week
  • Own the partner dialogue and execute on annual plans for partner activities, events, round tables, industry dialogues etc.

    Who you are:

    • To be successful in this role we believe that you have at least 3 years of relevant experience within event production, either from an event agency or from an inhouse event department
    • As you will manage multiple projects at once, it is important that you have a strategic mindset, solid project management skills and a problem solver attitude
    • You have a passion to make a positive impact in the world and being a part of the solution
    • You are a team player at heart and thrive in a fast moving environment
    • Great communication skills in order to manage multiple stakeholders in various projects
    • You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and have a hands on approach in your way of working

A job at Norrsken is more like working at a startup than a charity. It’s a fast-paced and exciting place to work. Tasks and challenges may be demanding, responsibilities may change over time, but we guarantee that in return we will fast-forward your personal and professional development. Ten years from now, you will be proud of the projects and ideas you have developed and acted on together with us.

Sound like you? We encourage you to apply as soon as possible as recruitment is ongoing.

    Salary & benefits

Salary is 40 000 SEK/month, 7 weeks of holiday and opportunity to participate in Norrsken’s investment programme. The position is based at the Norrsken House in Stockholm.
