Technical Lead

Norrsken Foundation is on a mission to put a positive ding in the universe. In our first five years we’ve created Europe’s largest impact Hub in Stockholm, launched Europe’s largest early-stage impact VC fund, founded about 10 companies and given birth to our own Impact Accelerator programme. We also continue to gather some of the world’s greatest thinkers in the recurring end-of-summer Impact Week, aimed at challenging decision makers and celebrating role models. On top of this, we are constructing East Africa’s largest hub for startups in Kigali, Rwanda, due to open before the end of the year.

...But we’re only getting started. We’re now ready for the next stage of our growth journey, and we’re looking for top-tier Tech-lead with a passion for everything digital, web, systems who can help us take our tech setup and operations to the next level.

About the Role

As Norrsken’s Tech Lead, you will be the ultimate owner of our systems and how we optimize working with them. We will also look to you to make sense of the data that comes out of these systems, to analyze and give input/recommendations to how we can work smarter, convert better or improve ROI on a specific acquisition funnel.

Automation is also high on our want-list, as we look to you to find ways of automating how our systems interact, the outputs that come out of these and how manual steps can be minimized or removed altogether. To give concrete examples: This could be the whole application process for our Houses, the Impact Accelerator or creating the user interface for a new undefined initiative.

We think you are a passionate multi-skilled digital mastermind that also has solid project management skills under your belt. Our new team member is well versed in the digital space, having understand of everything from Wordpress to workflow automation and APIs.

You will be part of the Finance & Operations team and report directly to the CFO/COO of Norrsken Foundation. 

Work tasks will include but not limited to:

  • You will have over all ownership of the Norrsken technical infrastructure & architecture.
  • Drive and implement technical initiatives to make sure we work as lean and mean as possible.

  • Lead and own analytics pertaining to our platforms. More specifically, being able to process and answer requests linked to the Norrsken House, Norrsken VC or our Impact Accelerator.

  • Drive critical technical projects to create state of the art experiences for our members, portfolio companies and ecosystem.

  • Supporting our House Team regarding user experience (startup journeys, member portal) as well as day to day technical tasks. This may be done through automating workflows and removing manual steps in the process or coming up with entirely new ways of doing things.

You are are good fit if you:

  • As we are a rather small team, we are looking for someone that is willing and able to have a strategic mindset as well as rolling up their sleeves and getting stuff done on an operational level.

  • Have a genuine passion for making things better in the world and you thrive in a fast moving environment.

  • Have a data-driven mindset. You know which metrics are relevant and how to track, analyze and take action on them.

  • Have project management experience in the sense that you apply an analytical and structured approach to the tasks at hand. Also having the experience to handle several tasks at once and prioritizing your workload.

  • It is important that you have stakeholder management skills. You will be a vital part in the organization by supporting and being first point of contact for several of our suppliers, departments, houses and members.
  • You are a humle doer that is willing to do what it takes to move the business forward.

  • 3+ years relevant work experience from similar role in a startup/growth environment

Salary & benefits
