As our current CFO/COO is changing roles to become General Partner of the Norrsken Impact Accelerator Fund, we are looking for a rockstar CFO/COO to join the Norrsken management team to drive all matters within finance, treasury, operations, and legal. 

Norrsken Foundation is on a mission to put a positive ding in the universe. In our first five years we’ve created Europe’s largest impact Hub in Stockholm, launched Europe’s largest early-stage impact VC fund, founded about 10 companies and given birth to our own Impact Accelerator programme. We also continue to gather some of the world’s greatest thinkers in the recurring end-of-summer Impact Week, aimed at challenging decision makers and celebrating role models. On top of this, we are constructing East Africa’s largest hub for startups in Kigali, Rwanda, due to open before the end of the year.

What you'll do:

This is a unique role where we want you to be able to lead both finance and operations of Norrsken. Thus your responsibilities will be twofold:
 

1. You will drive all matters within finance, accounting, treasury, impact measuring, corporate admin, legal and asset management (of Norrsken’s 1bn+ SEK assets), making us capital efficient in creating the most impact through our investments & initiatives. 

 2. You will be leading the Norrsken operating team, including people operations, in Sweden, Rwanda and future countries and ensure efficient collaboration across diverse business areas in multiple geographies as one team.

 

You will be a member of the Norrsken Foundation management team, and report directly to the CEO.


You are a good fit if you: 

  • Want to make the world a better place, and believe entrepreneurship is a great driving force for this.

  • Have experience from managing finances and/or accounting in a fast-paced smaller- or medium-sized company, giving you the understanding of bookkeeping, finance, business development, tax, legal, risk, corporate admin, operations and HR (preferably in several countries and entities).

  • Are a finance and operational generalist, who can contribute both in the details as well as to high level strategic discussions.

  • Have experience from driving funding strategy and implementing different funding alternatives in multiple countries and currencies.  

  • Have previously managed teams of different business areas internationally as you will be managing a Business controller, Head of talent acquisition and our international operations manager.

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience.


Examples of areas to cover: 

- Funding and financial strategy 

- Audit, accounting and reporting processes 

- Business controlling and financial risk management for all entities within the group

- Impact measurement

- Tax and VAT 

- Operational strategy, roadmap planning, tactics and prioritization

- Optimizing team collaboration between multiple business areas in different countries 

- Contribute to the overall strategy of the foundation as part of the management team

Salary & benefits

The position is based in Stockholm and may require some travelling. 

Salary is 80,000 sek/month, 7 weeks of vacation and really good benefits, including investment opportunities in Norrsken’s employee investment program.  We encourage you to apply as soon as possible as recruitment is ongoing.
